Favone lies at the southern tip of the Côte des Nacres. Just 8 km south of Solenzara, the bays of Favone and Canella mark the gateway to southern Corsica and its stunning beaches.

Just 6 km from Villa Mimosa, the Genoese Tower of Fautea overlooks its magnificent bay, a truly breathtaking spot.

If you wish to explore the surrounding area, you’ll be spoiled for choice. Porto-Vecchio and Bonifacio await you further south, or you can head inland to discover the Alta Rocca mountains and the famous Aiguilles de Bavella.

Things to do in Favone

Located just 8 km south of Solenzara, Favone is a charming seaside resort set between the sea and the Corsican maquis. You’ll find restaurants, a newsagent and a small grocery store nearby.

On the beach, Aqua Vanua offers a range of activities including kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, guided excursions and sunset outings, as well as a diving centre. (see website)

‍Nearby, Solenzara features a marina, numerous shops and restaurants, along with boat trips by sailboat, catamaran or fishing excursions. Boat rentals are also available in Solenzara or Pinarellu, about 20 minutes away by car.

The Aiguilles de Bavella

This spectacular natural site in the heart of the Alta Rocca mountains offers breathtaking hikes, climbing routes, canyoning, natural pools and stunning panoramic views.

It’s an ideal destination for nature and adventure lovers. The natural pools of Purcaraccia are located about 20 minutes away by car (with a guide).

Porto-Vecchio & its beaches

About a 30-minute drive away, Porto-Vecchio is a lively town renowned for its famous beaches such as Palombaggia and Santa Giulia, and a little further south, the iconic Rondinara.

With their soft white sand and turquoise waters, these beaches are perfect for swimming, diving, snorkelling or simply relaxing in the sun.

Bonifacio, cliffs & old town

Further south, the town of Bonifacio is a must-see. Perched on limestone cliffs, it offers spectacular views over the Mediterranean Sea, a lively harbour and a charming medieval old town to explore.

Boat trips are also available to visit the stunning Lavezzi Islands, known for their turquoise waters and unspoilt landscapes.
